Thanks everyone for your reader comments on my last post.

I'm thinking maybe I should clarify that my house doesn't stink...at least I don't think it does. I am not trying to cover-up any smell just give my house a light, pleasant smell when someone walks in. It just doesn't have a special, good smell unless I'm baking (which I do a lot but the smell disappears so quickly).

I DO use a diaper genie (which smells even when there's just a few diapers in it) and Phil and I keep the litterbox very clean because our cat poops on the carpet if it's not cleaned daily. Oh, and I bought a new litter last time just to try something different and Phil actually told me "Wow, that litter smells great!" It was the Arm & Hammer Odor Alert I believe and although I laughed when he told me that, it does smell good without a "masking the odor" type smell.

Anyways, thanks for all the suggestions. I'll have to look into wallflowers. They sound interesting and I don't know what they are. Thanks also for the specific smell suggestions that you enjoy.

Between poopy baby diapers and a cat litter box in our home, the aroma of my home isn't always the sweetest. I'd like to purchase some kind of air freshener that will help my home smell great when I walk in the front door or am home all day. I always have trouble picking out good smells at the store. It gets overwhelming and by the time I get home, they don't smell as good as I thought they would. I don't like frilly, flowery or overpowering scents. Just something that will provide a pleasant smell when I enter my home. Does anyone have any suggestions? I don't usually light candles so I'm looking for something that I can set out, plug into a light switch and forget about it for awhile. Let me know what YOU like and why. Thanks!

I picked up the mail when I got back from Denver today (I'll blog about that later) and in the mail I received a book exchange letter. It's one of those chain letters where you send out one book and eventually, you're supposed to get 36 back. I'm usually not a chain letter kind of person but I thought I'd participate in this one. However, since I don't want to send it to people who don't really want to participate, I thought I'd ask on my blog and see if there are six people willing to participate? Just leave a comment in my blog if you'd like to participate and I'll send you an email with the letter. I love books (especially children's books) and thought this would be a fun way to get a variety of books for Taeya that I may not have heard of before.

Here's the gist of what you have to do if you want to participate:

You send one book to the child listed in #1 on the form. Then you give a copy of the letter to six friends. You put your child's name in #2 which is then moved to the number one slot for the next six people. Within a week, you're supposed to send your book and the six letters and within a few weeks your child should get 36 books if everyone participates.

So, I'm interested to see if I can get 6 people to participate. (This is an easy way to find friends who want to participate without involving people who don't want to participate. You can even copy and paste my blog post on your blog if you'd like to).

Shoe Survery-Please participate!

As I walk outside, I am beginning to feel like Fall is approaching. I'm excited for the cooler weather, the crisp, clean air and the changing of the leaves. However, with the cold, I realize I need to make a few changes to Taeya's wardrobe. #1 change being that I need to buy her shoes. My darling girl has gone barefoot all summer except at night when she wears her pj's with feet or her sleepsack.

If you've been reading my blog for awhile, you've probably noticed that I like saving money and getting good deals. So, I'm asking my blog readers for some advice. If you have children, please tell me where you purchase your children's shoes, what's the average price you end up paying, if there's any good online company's to buy from, if you have shoes you want to donate to Taeya (I'm only partially kidding) or anything else that would be helpful to me as I delve into the infant shoe world. Oh, and please do tell me what brand of infant toddler shoes you like the best and why.

Thank you in advance for sharing any thoughts. I'm sure my little girl will greatly appreciate it (as would her mother).

I was tagged by Elisha L to post about 6 of my quirks. I'm always horrible trying to think of these things (although I'm sure I have many).

Let's see...

1. I love to be super organized and all my organization boxes have to match. I started buying purple tubs from Target back in college and if I need a new storage tub, it has to be a purple one from Target. I don't like lots of mismatched tubs. In my closet, I have smaller clear boxes with blue lids (I use them in my craft area as well). All of my tubs are labeled with a labelmaker or typed labels so they look nice and clean. My linen closet tubs are smaller and also all match and are labeled. In my kitchen everything has it's place and my spices are all lined up alphabetically. I even have a sheet of paper (typed) with what extra spices I have so if I'm running low, I can fill up my matching, labeled, spice jars. Want me to come organize for you? :)

2. I love math. It's a passion of mine. I want other people to like and love it as well. I enjoy math games and things that make me thing. Math is fun to me.

3. I can't handle it when people tap repetatively. It grates on my nerves and if it's going on, I can't think or function normally. They either have to stop or I have to leave. Drives me CRAZY!

4. I don't mind a little bit of dirt. If my food falls on the floor/ground, I usually pick it up and brush it off. I'm not germaphobic and think it's okay for little kids to touch Taeya. Obviously, I try to protect her from sickness but I don't go out of my way to make people wash their hands etc before holding or touching her even when she was little.

5. I love to read but I hate picking out my own books to read. I'd much rather read a book that's recommended then have to find one on my own. I'll go to the library and leave with nothing because I don't know what to read.

6. I take TONS of digital pictures but don't like deleting the bad ones because I'm afraid that I'll delete some memory that someday I'll want to look back on and wish I had kept. I'm nostalgic.
