Postponed Plans

Phil and I were going to go rollerblading along the river today. It turned out to be a beautiful day but unfortunately (or maybe fortunately) I was on the couch for 1/2 the day. I threw up so hard today that I tweeked my back. Thankfully, I'm not throwing up every day but I do have morning sickness basically all day, every day. I'm still trying to figure out what helps my tummy and when i should eat. My OB prescribed a prenatal vitamin that should help but the pharmacy didn't have it in and won't get it until Tuesday. I also tried to buy ginger pills at the store but the grocery store here in town didn't have those either. :( At least the sickness means the baby should be growing! It's exciting to think that it's over 1/2 in long right now. I can't wait to see an ultrasound of our little one. I'll either have an ultrasound on 6/12 or 6/19 when I have my next OB appointments.

When we DO get to go rollerblading by the river...I'll make sure to take pictures for the blog!

I am surprised that your doctor will let you go rollerblading - that was on the definite no list for me - - - -

Hope you are feeling better soon.

I'm sorry you're feeling so sick --hope you're feeling better very soon! I sat by Anna (Bauer)Roni today at Holly Hartman's wedding. Anna is enjoying your class -- I told her you're enjoying the dogs!

I didn't actually ask my doctor if I could go rollerblading. However, I did ask about white water rafting and she said that was fine for the 1st trimester so I'm assuming rollerblading is as well. Maybe I should ask about that one too.

Megan I'm so sorry about your throwing up misery, that is simply awful! I guess all I can say it just try to relax and think about your little one and I guess that's the sacrifice that has to be made. I'll be praying for you!

Try sweet tarts (sometimes they help w/nausea), crackers before you get out of bed and a bit of water or gingersnap cookies. =) I'm not sure if the prenatal vitamins really help, but hopefully!!

Hadn't heard of sweet tarts! I've tried the crackers. Today, I had a half of one right after I got up and that's what started me throwing up this morning. I just can't win! :) The prenatal vitamins are a prescription type specifically for "sensitive stomaches" and they have some extra's that are supposed to calm the stomach. We will see.

I'm sorry you are feeling crumby right now. It is such a mixed blessing-feeling aweful and knowing your baby is growing and doing well. I will be praying that you will feel better, and soon. Not much helped me but hopefully the weeks until you feel better will fly by.

Sarah is right - it will go faster than you think -the fact I am at 21 weeks and thought it would take forever - but it really doesn't - it has gone so fast.

I leave the internet world for a couple weeks and I come back to find this good news! Congrats! I'm excited for you both. This move to Colorado is really the beginning of many new things.
On the roller-blading note, Brian just got roller-blades for his birthday a couple of weeks ago and we have yet to try them. We're going this weekend, but haven't picked the place yet. Perhaps around Santa Monica. Let me know if you know of any good places.

Congrats again!
