More Family Photos

Today, Sarah and I got the babies AND the guys outside for some quick family pictures. We ended up with some nice ones. I haven't had a chance to edit any but thought I'd post some of the better ones. (After the guys were done, Sarah and I took some more of the girls which is why the beginning ones don't have the daddy's in them). We went to Glenwood Caverns yesterday and had a nice time until the little ones got too tired. The funniest thing happened as well. We ran into Tony & Joan Beckett, our former pastor and his wife from PA whom we haven't seen for 10+ years!!! We didn't even know they were going to be in CO and we just happened to run into them! What are the odds?
Yummy, I can eat this right?
Can I hold it please?
Beautiful Bekah.
Bekah did such a good job holding Taeya.
Bekah loves the baby. She's going to be a wonderful big sister.
I love this photo of Sarah and baby.
I love the setting of this picture.

What a lovely family.
The Camp's.

Our big girl.
I love this picture.
The group with the Becketts.
This was really cute. I put a toy in with Taeya before we left somewhere. Bekah saw me to it so she decided that Taeya needed a few more toys...she brought about twenty. Towards the end she was just throwing anything she could find on top of her cousin. Bekah's a great sharer and when we were driving in the car and Taeya was screaming her head off, Bekah shared her blanket, doggie and baby doll with Taeya. I think this picture is so funny though. Taeya didn't mind one bit that she had so much stuff on top of her.
A nice group photo at the Glenwood Caverns.
I went bull riding.
Phil and I did the "sling shot" where you fly out over a cliff...it was really fun.
I guess that's all for now. I still need to blog about our trip to Montrose where we got to see Grandma Carol, Aunt Barb and Uncle Allen. It was their first time meeting the two grandbabies.

Tomorrow I leave for CA with everyone else (except Phil). I'm guessing that I won't be blogging much while I'm gone. Check back to see what you can find but don't expect too much for a couple weeks. I'll be leaving my computer at home...

Family Pictures

I have been having a blast with Sarah, Chris and Bekah who are currently visiting from CA. (Hence, my lack of blog posts). Today is Taeya's 7 month birthday. She is having a growth spurt which is making her need to eat all the time. She's been eating lots of new foods...waffles, beans, cheese, yogurt...pretty-much anything she can get her little hands on. Sarah and I took the girls out this morning to get some pictures of them together. Both girls were close to naptime (and meltdown stage). We did manage to get a few cute pictures though. I have many more pictures to share but for now, this will have to do. Enjoy.

Our Past Week

Contemplating why the grass is so green
I'm sitting so well.
Having fun.

She turns to look at something...
Uh, oh, a little unstable when she turns.
Tonight, Phil and Megan played tennis for the first time in a long time. Taeya hung out and watched us in her stroller. She thought she was a little too white so she tried to tan her tummy.

Mommy and Taeya after tennis time.
Daddy and Taeya having some fun.
Daddy teaches Taeya about tennis.
Is this how it works?
Isn't she so cute in this picture? I love the expression on her face.
My sweet little girl.
Oh, how I love her.
Taeya got Daddy a balloon for his birthday.
The balloon made Mommy & Daddy act weird.

Happy Birthday Darling!

Today is my sweet husband's quarter-of-a-century-birthday. He's not up for a lot of hulabalu so we're having a nice dinner together tonight and going out to see a movie next weekend. Taeya and I just want to wish you a very happy birthday today!!!

Here's the birthday boy 25 years ago today with his piggy pesquali!

Celebrating his 1st birthday!

Phil got a phone when he turned one and he just got a cell phone for his 25th birthday as well. Guess some things don't change.

Two years old.

Guess who is three?

Avacados #2

So, Taeya ate her second serving of avacados tonight and I was amazed at the difference in that kid. She ate ALL of her avacado and she didn't yell throughout the meal. She also didn't look like Oscar the Grouch when she was done. I just had to wipe up her face a tiny bit. Amazing. She seems to have changed her mind from the first time. Maybe it was just that she enjoyed her bananas first and then the avacado didn't taste so bad. Guess time will tell. So, for all of you blog readers who are worried about Taeya having to eat avacado, she's now not hating it.

Sick!

Taeya came down with a runny nose on July 4th and it has progressively been getting worse. She had a slight cough when at the doctor's on Monday and today she's been hacking and gagging. :( My poor baby! It's so sad seeing her sick. She was kind enough to share what she has with me so I've been sick with a head cold since Sunday. I feel HORRIBLE, I can't imagine how sweet little Taeya is feeling. We're living with a humidifier, an elevated mattress (for Taeya), a nose sucker, tylenol, motrin and lots and lots of tissues. I just hope we're fully recovered VERY soon. I have an appointment to take Taeya in to the doctor's tomorrow if she's still coughing. I had one this morning but canceled it because by the time she was supposed to go in, she was hardly coughing anymore. Isn't that the way it always is?

A Few Videos

Here are a couple videos of Taeya eating her avacados and rice cereal and one of her giggling from yesterday. They're not all that exciting but I enjoy watching them. :)

First Rice Cereal

Lots of Giggles

Taeya got the first of her 6 month shots today and I was really surprised when she didn't cry at all! She didn't even seem to notice it. The music mobile overhead helped a lot!

Feeding Time & 6 mo Checkup

This is how Taeya normally looks when she's eating. Here she's trying out her first cereal today.

So, a few of my readers have asked if Taeya is self-fed based on how incredibly covered she was when eating her carrots and avacado. My MIL said, "Stop feeding that girl avacado!" (with a joking voice). For Taeya's credit, she's NOT normally that messy when she eats. When she likes the food, she opens her mouth, takes the bite and swallows it. Very little if any comes back out. She often barely gets anything on her bib. However, when she DOESN'T like a food (such as her carrots and avacado) she eats half of it and spits the other half out and also puts her hands in her mouth a lot, which is why she gets so messy. Once she's messy, she really does a good job spreading it around...rubbing her eyes, playing with her toes (which she does a lot) and pulling more food out of her mouth. Once she's messy, I do tend to let her self-feed a little because it's not going to make her much messier than she already is and she enjoys trying. The avacado and carrots also stick to the spoon a bit more which make it harder for her to fling it across the table at me. So, she does do a little self-feeding but most of the mess is just due to her dislike of those two foods. Most of the foods she's tried she really likes. Tonight she had rice cereal for the first time and LOVED it! She kept leaning forward and opening her mouth trying to get it before it was even on the spoon. It was so cute. She devoured all of her rice cereal in just a couple minutes. I'll have to post some videos of her actually eating so you can see the difference between the foods she likes and those she doesn't.

Taeya had her 6 mo. checkup today. She's a tiny 12.14 lbs and 25 3/4 in long. She's in the 3-5% for weight. We started her on cereal today to try to get her some more calories so we can get her weight up a little. (I'm not worried, she's very well proportioned and is meeting all her developmental milestones. She's just on the small side). It was funny though because the nurse weighed her once and measured her twice and then when the doctor came in he weighed and measured her again...just to make sure it was done correctly the first time. Which it was.
