Meaning of Taeya

An anonymous person asked what Taeya means on a previous post. I looked her name up before she was born to find out the same thing myself. It's not in many of the baby books (at least not spelled the same way). However, based on what people have posted on baby name websites here's what I found. It seems to stem from either an Alaskan/Eskimo or Japanese origin. In Japanese it is said to mean beauty and intelligence. In Alaskan it means affectionate one. Again, this is what individual people posted on a website and is not "official" from a baby name book.

I just read the comment you left me:) Thank you for visiting my blog...I am going to update it right now!! I found your blog thru Tara's blog!

As for the ear piercing...we got Kenna's done after she had her first vaccinations at 9 weeks (we actually pierced them at 12 weeks) We talked to her ped about it and she said to either pierce them before she was 4 months or after she was 3 years old! Because during that time she will most likely mess with her ears after getting them pierced and you want their ears to completely heal before they start pulling at them. She is going to be 9 months of Friday and we havent had any problems with her pulling at her ears (besides during ear infections) or losing ear rings!! We actually dont get special baby earrings because we have found that they are usually screw-backs and they dont close close enough to her ears and they stick out funny in the front! We just go to Claire's (the cheap jewelery place) and get sensitive ears earrings with little nitches at the very end of the back of the post (it stops the back from falling off SHOULD Kenna pull on it!) I hope that helps you and your princess will sure look pretty with her ears pierced:)

Congratulations Megan! I wanted to post a comment sooner than this but just got busy. Just to let you know that I check your blog every day and enjoy all your pictures. I love your little Amish baby. I'm praying for your quick recovery.

She is adorable! My niece is named Tehya...my sister heard it is an Indian name (if I remember correctly) and it means "precious". =)

ditto on kristal's comment. I don't remember where I read it, but my understanding was that Taeya means "precious," though I can't find that anywhere anymore...
