Little Bits of Life

Taeya enjoyed her first lollipop. That is until she put one of her sticky hands in the dirt and tried to shake the dirt off. When that didn't work, she dropped her lollipop in the dirt so she could brush off her hand. Hahaha I rescued the dirty lollipop and we moved onto something else.
These are some cute cupcakes I made for our friend, Annie's, birthday. I made them too early so they were on the dry side but they looked cute and actually weren't super hard.
Pointing to "dis." This little girl knows what she wants. She's not super vocal most of the time but does let us know what she wants.

The other day I helped my friend garden and Taeya helped by eating dirt. She actually enjoyed the dirt eating part. That's not what she was sad about here. I was just about to wipe off her mouth and for some reason she started fussing when I took the picture but she was happy for the 15 minutes or so from the time she started eating dirt until I took the pictures. When Taeya gets sad she often says, "Ooo, oooo, oooo" and forms her mouth in the little "O" you see below. It's really adorable.

Our House Progress

The house is coming along well. Lots of decisions are being made all the time. The siding is almost all done. All of it is finished except for the front of the house. They have to put a small amount of siding on the second story and then a stone facade on the lower level and the exterior will be mostly finished. A few shutters and trim details will be added later. They have begun to do all the duct work in the house and the heater is installed. The plumber and electrician will start next week or perhaps later this week. Our concrete driveway has been poured and some of the yardwork leveling and such has been done as well. Progress is being made slowly but surely. Closing is tentatively set for June 30th. I'm SO EXCITED about moving in (and can't wait for all the decision making to be over).
The above pictures were taken 4/18.

More Li'l Taeya

Have you missed me?

(This picture was taken after lunch where Taeya had alfredo pasta. She kept rubbing her alfredo covered hands all through her hair. Mommy helped it stand on end after she did such a great job with the "hair gel". She was pretty funny looking and we had to go somewhere right after this).

This is the very cheesy grin Taeya shows us throughout the day. She does it if she thinks she's being funny and quite often when she's doing something naughty and she knows it. Who can resist that face?
For those of you who haven't seen it on Facebook, my computer was sent away for repairs for 8 days. If you know me, you know that was a LONG time for me to be without my computer. It was good for me though and I got a lot done without having any time to waste on it each day. (I also got behind on a lot of things I normally do on my computer). I just got my computer back today and am very excited. Anyways, I didn't stop taking pictures of my precious Taeya or our family's house progress. I'll post some pics tonight and a few more in the coming days hopefully.

Daddy was pushing Taeya in the swing. She was a bit excited can you tell?

Picking her first flower (a dandelion) for daddy.

Giving her first flower to daddy. It was all smushed and crumpled from being held tightly in her little hands. So sweet though.

Taeya had fun sliding. We'd put her on the top and if we didn't hold onto her and help her slide down, she would attempt to launch herself headfirst down the slide. It was pretty funny. One time, Phil let her try it by herself (we didn't let her launch herself though) and she fell back and hit her head on the slide. She's almost ready to do it on her own but not quite yet.
She was very determined to put lots of rocks onto the slide. This would have kept her entertained for a long time I think.

Peek-A-Bo

During lunch the other day, Taeya initiated a game of peek-a-boo. Here she is in all of her cuteness. Isn't she just the cutest?

The Little One Walks!

For those of you interested, Taeya is now officially walking. She started walking the Sunday before last. She was determined to get a ball across the room and kept starting at the bed. She would walk towards the ball, topple over, crawl back to the starting point and try again. With lots of cheers from Mommy and Daddy, she kept at it for quite awhile. I think it gave her the confidence she needed to take off. Just the next day she was carrying her large sized toys around the house with her while attempting to walk. She does pretty good most of the time but still has some falls here and there. I took a bunch of pictures yesterday but I'm too tired to upload them right now. I'll work on getting them on my blog soon. I've been crazy swamped between tutoring, swim lessons, being a wife, mommy, caring for an older neighbor, dealing with house stuff etc. etc. My life is full right now. I'm happy and tired but content.

Both Phil and I are so excited about our house. Things are moving along well. We signed the contract this week. Our closing date is tentatively set for June 30th. I'm guessing it'll take longer than that but we shall see. The windows are all in and look great. Roof is on and siding color has been picked. It should be arriving soon I think. We met with the cabinet guy and all cabinet choices have been made except for the master bath. He didn't have what we were looking for so we either change our choice or find it elsewhere. Have I mentioned that I'm excited? My kitchen won't be huge but it'll be bigger than what I have now and I'll have an ISLAND! I've always wanted an island! I'll also have a tutoring room where I can neatly store all my teaching materials and have them handy rather than in storage boxes in the loft! I'll put up some more pictures soon. I have pics of the house with the windows in. They look awesome.
