End of the Year Ideas???

Hey everyone, I need some ideas of fun (Easy) things to do the last week of school. Do you have any memories from your childhood of things you enjoyed doing or something you've heard that's been done? I have stuff to do every day but sometimes we just need that "filler" activity for a few minutes. I'd love any suggestions!

End of year - what a fun time of craziness!!!!! I did a review of spelling words from the year by playing spelling basektaball - you can divide them into teams and either play outside or inside with a nerf hoop. Spell the word correctly and you get to shoot for your team (one point per word and one point per shot made). We wrote letters to next year's class - that was fun and interesting to read - they gave the next year's class helpful hints, what they did that they enjoyed, etc. It was a great way to practice letter writing without telling them that is what we were doing - they loved giving tips to next year's 3rd graders. I am going to put one on each desk next year - should be fun. Being outside was one of the best things for us - since they had so much energy.

Hope the end of school goes well for you!!!!!

Stephanie, I think I'll do the "tip" idea. I was thinking about it earlier but then kind of forgot about it. Rachel, I laughed out loud at your idea to "strap them down & write love letters." Sometimes I think that's just what they need...the strap part. Just kidding! I've got a wonderful group of kids who adore me and who I love. ;)

Megan,

The funny part is I also had my kiddos write me letters - what they liked, didn't like, etc. That was fun to read as well!

Stephanie,
I've already done that. I had the kids write what they liked and wished was different about this year. I also had them say what they're excited and scared about for next year. It was interesting to read. :)

You are right - it was "enlightening" for me - to hear that they actually liked some things I thought they didn't like and to get some thoughts for next year! So are you offically done?
