Baby News

Well, this week I have appointments at the doctor's office or hospital every weekday except for Tuesday. Tomorrow, Phil and I are going to the hospital for another non-stress test (NST). Christmas day we have no appointments. On Wednesday, I would appreciate your prayers as they are going to try to turn the baby. This process is called a version. They give me a drug to help my muscles relax, although it also makes me kind of jittery I hear. Then they do an ultrasound to find out where the baby is and the doctor pushes on her head and bottom and tries to get her to turn. (See picture for a visual). I'm not really worried about it but I do hope that it works. I've heard that it can be pretty painful and it only has about a 50% chance of working. Since she's a small baby, I'm hoping that her size will help her turn easier. If it works, it means that I will not have to have a scheduled c-section. If there are any complications during the version, it can mean an emergency c-section (which is why it's done in the hospital after 37 weeks when the baby is considered full-term). If the baby doesn't turn, we'll be scheduling a c-section one week before my due date. So, basically, I can have this baby anytime between the 26th to my due-date or beyond! After Wednesday, we'll have a better idea of when to expect this little one to come.

On Thursday, I have another NST and Friday a doctor's appt. w/ultrasound. I'm going to see if I can get my Thursday/Friday appointments taken care of on Wednesday so I don't have to go in so much.

We're getting very excited to meet our little girl. Which by the way we were able to confirm again through ultrasound last week. We've been trying to check and make sure she's a girl for awhile now but she's always sitting really low in my pelvis which makes it difficult to see anything. However, at the last ultrasound appointment we looked again because she was higher than normal and we're very confident that we're having a girl. If for some reason we have a boy, he's going to be wearing an aweful lot of pink!

I hope all of my readers have a very Merry Christmas! I wish we could be spending the holidays with our families. Hopefully, next year we'll have that opportunity.
As we enjoy this season of blessings, may we remember the best gift ever given, Jesus Christ. Please remember to lift us up in prayer on Wednesday morning. We're scheduled to do the version at 10:30 Mountain time.

Praying for a success! I hope that tiny pink peep turns for you and the belly doesn't hurt too much in the process.

And for the health of everyone, regardless of the outcome.
