My dear friend , Kristin, from CA came to visit our family this week. She arrived on Monday (6 hours late due to the train delay). She left yesterday morning (Friday)...see the end of this blog for the story of her departure.
Isn't Taeya SOO cute in this hat with bunny ears? I call her my "Little Bunny Foo-Foo" when she's wearing it. I even sang her the whole song the first time she wore the hat.
She's finally big enough to use the swing from her relatives! Thank you! She LOVES it. Until now though, her head would always fall forward and start to asphixiate her (or at least it appeared to). She now has enough of a double chin to hold her head up (and I think her neck muscles are a bit stronger too).
Three beautiful ladies!
I enjoyed the blessing of Kristin's cooking while she was here.
Kristin and I had a lovely visit together. She enjoyed Taeya and had many opportunities to cuddle with her. Taeya was her sweet little self all week. We spent most of our time at home relaxing and just talking, cooking and playing some games. It was lovely for us both.
We had quite a bit of snow this week. Wednesday, I went to my 6 week post-partum appointment and the roads were the slipperiest that I've driven on. Thankfully, we made it to the office and home safely.
I love this outfit on Taeya. Notice the I love U made up of the blue alphabet letters.
Funny little face while sleeping.
Kristin enjoyed lots of snuggle time with Taeya.
Trying to take a picture of all three of us.
This was taken right after Kristin arrived.
Excuse how frumpy i look. Don't you love the cute bonnet and mittens Kristin brought for Taeya.
Showing off her gift some more.
Taeya and I LOVE to sleep like this. Almost every morning, when she starts fussing, I put her on my chest and we both fall back to sleep for an hour or so. We love to snuggle. Right now, as I type this blog, she's been asleep on my chest the entire time.
My sweet husband trying on Taeya's new hat. Isn't he such a trooper letting me dress him up AND take pictures. :)
The adventurous story of Kristin trying to leave Colorado. So far, all of our visitors have had difficulty making it home when they've come to visit. I told Kristin the state doesn't like to let people leave.
(I typed this last night so the tenses might sound off)
We knew the mountain passes were closed today (Friday) and tried calling her shuttle company to see if they were still picking up. Since we couldn't get through, we drove to the pick-up spot and kept calling. We finally got through to them on the phone. They said the shuttle would be 10 minutes late but that it was coming. After waiting 30 minutes and not seeing any shuttle, we called and the person said they cancelled all shuttles and wouldn't be picking her up. So, we drove to the train station to see if she could catch that to at least get to Denver. While were were at the station debating what to do, the shuttle oompany called and asked if she was still wanting to go to Denver. We said "yes" of course and they said it would pick her up in 7 or 8 minutes. Make up your mind!! So, we jumped in the car and drove back to the shuttle pick up spot. We saw them drive by us and we waited a few minutes and then called the company to make sure they didn't forget to pick her up. While we were on the phone, they arrived. Whew! Kristin made it to the airport about 20 minutes before her flight. Thankfully, her flight was delayed about 45 minutes so she made it on the plane!! Praise the Lord. She's had a long day and it'll be awhile before she gets home but hopefully she'll make it safe and sound.
We're so glad you came to visit!!

OH, enjoy that stage where she lays on your chest and sleeps. It's so precious. Those are memories you'll take with you through out your lifetime.
Glad you had a nice visit with Kristin. I like the bunny foo foo shot -- is that a pacifier in her mouth? It looks enormous!! What a little cutie. :)
Yup. It's her pacifier she got at the hospital. It does look huge against her face. Part of it is the camera angel and part of it is because her face is still so little.
It's so nice to see Kristin again... the last time I saw her was when we were still in Hawaii and she came to visit her grandparents. I'm glad you guys had a nice visit. Tell her I say hi! ~Sarah w.
P.S. Yes, cherish these times that she sleeps on you... both of my kids have moved past that stage and I really miss it!
I agree with Sarah...enjoy the time they sleep on your chest. Even now Sophia won't do it much. Taeya is so cute!
BTW...you didn't look frumpy in the picture. If you look frumpy, God help me! :)
How fun - Luke had that alphabet shirt in blue! I like how they lined up the I Love U in the letters. :)
Thank you for such a wonderful week! It was so fun to come out --even with Colorado trying to keep me. :)
